From national selection to IOI
Choose a country or region. Each route runs from its national stages to the international contest (IOI); there is no single advancement chain across countries.

China · NOI series and GESP
The main route is CCF's Informatics Olympiad (NOI series); GESP is optional, and a high C++ score can exempt CSP-J/S Round 1; other whitelisted contests have no official link to the main route. Select a box to jump to its explanation.

United States · USACO
USACO has four divisions, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum; year-round performance feeds training camp and national team selection.

International contests
IOI International Olympiad in Informatics
An international informatics contest to which national and regional organizations send delegations; a regular delegation has 1–4 contestants. Domestic selection is arranged by each organization.
National team eligibility is not reduced to nationality or age alone.

EGOI European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics
A girls' informatics contest for Europe and additionally invited countries, with its own eligibility and team rules.
It is not a required step towards IOI, and the word "European" does not exclude every non-European country.
APIO Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad
A regional informatics contest in Asia-Pacific; each national organization's participation selection needs separate verification.
One country's invitation numbers or selection method cannot be generalized to others.
Bebras International Computational Thinking Challenge
An international computational-thinking activity system organized separately by each country, useful as a subject for broad participation routes.
There is no official unified pathway to IOI; age groups must be checked country by country.
How to read these routes
- Official advancement / division promotion: the next stage under the organizer’s rules.
- Selection / invitation: based on results, quotas or invitations, not automatic promotion.
- National representation: the national organization sends a delegation to the international contest.
- Site training suggestion: a teaching recommendation, not an official link.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there no single worldwide advancement chart?
Each country selects its own team; APIO, EGOI and others have their own participation rules and are not required stages. A single chain would imply official links that do not exist.
Do these pages decide participation or national-team eligibility?
No. The pages only organize the verified main path; participation, official ranking, training camp and national team eligibility are verified separately and follow the official notice for the current year.
